GOOGLERS AGAINST ICE HITS 1,300 SIGNATURES Since we launched our Googlers Against ICE petition opposing Google’s contracts and partnerships with DHS/CBP/ICE a little under 2 weeks ago, over 1,350 of our co-workers have added their names to join us in our demands. This powerful and growing response from Google workers represents widespread anger with leadership’s collusion with Trump & ICE’s horrific detention-deportation machine. We started No Tech for Apartheid as a campaign against Project Nimbus, Google and Amazon’s joint $1.2 billion cloud computing contract with the Israeli military and government. We’re now taking on Google’s collusion with ICE/CBP not only because it’s the right thing to do but because we believe organizing that materially recognizes the interconnectedness of our fights only makes our movements stronger. Through Nimbus, Google provides air-gapped cloud services to Israel — these technologies that workers built have powered Israel’s apartheid state and its genocide of Palestinians in Gaza over the last 2+ years.  Now, Google has sold this same palette of technologies to DHS to power its violent assault on immigrants and our cities at large. We believe that no matter where Google technology is being deployed for militarism and state violence, we have a responsibility, as workers, to resist it. Across Israel’s genocidal apartheid system in Palestine and ICE raids in the U.S., Google tech is a throughline connecting our fights against oppression. That’s why we must exercise our power as workers and collectively resist inhumane use of this technology––the tech we labored to create. That’s why we’re coming together as Google workers to demand an end to this disgraceful use of our labor. Are you a Google worker who doesn’t want your labor to power ICE’s violence? Add your name at googlers-against-ice.com If you’re a Google or Amazon worker, join us as we build labor power against technology fueling militarism and state violence—from the U.S. to Palestine: solidarity.notechforapartheid.com/join

BREAKING—As of 1 PM February 6th, over 900 of our coworkers at Google have added their name to our petition demanding the company cut its ties with DHS, CBP, and ICE. ARE YOU A GOOGLE WORKER? Sign the petition at googlers-against-ice.com Google workers with No Tech for Apartheid organized the petition demanding disclosure and divestment, transparency into ties with ICE and CBP, and worker protections for Google workers—from data center employees to cafeteria workers to janitorial staff—all Googlers deserve safety and protection. 500 Googlers signed on within 24 hours of launching the petition on corporate channels. No Tech for Apartheid organized this petition because we believe in collective liberation. The technology that powers ICE and CBP is the same technology that powers Israel’s genocide in Gaza and brutal apartheid system. Our resistance to these systems of imperial violence must be interconnected. As a Google worker with No Tech for Apartheid said today at our press conference: “We organized this petition because we object to the technology we build being used to power state violence around the Globe, whether that be Israel’s apartheid system or ICE raids and deportations in the US.” In 2025, Google announced its new project with Trump’s US Customs & Border Protection to “upgrade the so-called virtual border wall,” by outfitting border towers previously built by infamous Israeli military contractor Elbit with Google’s AI capabilities. Google workers organized this petition as part of No Tech for Apartheid’s efforts to end the militarization of the company, as it increasingly pursues contracts with weapons manufacturers and fascist regimes. We call on our Google coworkers to join us in stopping the military exploitation of our labor & in opposing Google’s complicity in the U.S. prison and deportation machine and Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza. NEW—This week, on the same day that Israel killed 30 Palestinians — including three little girls from the same family — a new worker whistleblower leak revealed that @Google has been providing Gemini AI to the Israeli military & its contractors to help them “analyze drone video footage.” In July 2024, back when Google’s own policies stated that AI could not be used for surveillance or weapons, Google responded to requests from the Israeli military to make “Gemini more reliable at identifying objects… in aerial video footage.” The whistleblower alleged that Google’s AI ethics review process was not being applied to Israel’s use cases. We knew Google was collaborating with the Israeli military via Project Nimbus, its $1.2 billion AI and cloud computing contract with Israel. What we did not previously know was what Google technology the Israeli Occupation Forces were using, and to what ends — especially as related to Israel’s ongoing genocide against Palestinians in Gaza. Now we know that Google is providing its most advanced AI to the Israeli military, through products like Google Gemini (now also powering the U.S. Department of War), in order to identify, locate, and target people, as well as drones and tanks. Google could not deny the allegations in the complaint, instead attempting to downplay the severity of their technological facilitation of the surveillance and genocide of Palestinians by ridiculously claiming that the use of AI was “too small to be ‘meaningful.’” Previous investigations, made possible by leaks from other courageous worker whistleblowers, have brought to light, during the last 2+ years of Israel’s genocide how Google’s tech is being weaponized right now to continue targeting and killing Palestinians in Gaza, despite the so-called “ceasefire.” Silence will not keep us safe. Solidarity keeps us safe. Workers will not stand for our labor being weaponized by the Trump administration or Israel’s genocidal apartheid state — from Gaza to Minneapolis. We call on all of our coworkers at Google to join our collective & urgent fight to end the military exploitation of our labor. Join us: solidarity.notechforapartheid.com/join

BREAKING—A @google worker whistleblower’s leak to @washingtonpost confirms that Google’s Gemini is aiding the Israeli military by helping it and its contractors “analyze drone video footage.” In July 2024, when Google’s own policies stated that AI could not be used for surveillance or weapons, Google responded to requests from the Israeli military to make “Gemini more reliable at identifying objects… in aerial video footage.” The Google worker whistleblower shared that the typically robust AI ethics review process was not being applied to Israel’s use cases. Now we know that Google is providing its most advanced AI technology to the Israeli military, through products like Google Gemini (now also powering the U.S. Department of War), in order to identify, locate, and target people, as well as drones and tanks.  Google could not deny the allegations in the complaint, instead attempting to downplay the severity of their technological facilitation of Palestinian surveillance and genocide by ridiculously claiming that the use of AI was “too small to be ‘meaningful.’” This leak further exposes Google lies in its ties to Israel’s genocide in Gaza and ethnic cleansing in the West Bank, claiming their $1.2 billion AI cloud contract, Project Nimbus, was “not directed at highly sensitive, classified, or military workloads relevant to weapons or intelligence services.” Yet in January of 2025, reporting from the Washington Post revealed that Google “rushed to provide the Israeli military with greater access to AI tools” as the genocide against Palestinians began in October 2023. Since January of 2025, Google has doubled down on its turn toward militarism, pushing contracts with the Pentagon, CBP/DHS, Palantir, & Lockheed Martin. Workers organizing with #NoTechForApartheid will continue to build worker power to ensure our labor not be weaponized for apartheid, surveillance, and genocide. Are you a Google worker? 2025 has ended, marking over 2 years of genocide in Gaza and 1 year of the Trump regime. As we look back on last year, #NoTechForApartheid has compiled some of Google’s biggest 2025 trends, War Crimes Edition. 1. In her report “From Economy of Occupation to Economy of Genocide”, UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese named @google as one of the companies profiting from Israel’s occupation of Palestine and genocide in Gaza. According to this report, Google and its individual executives can be held criminally liable in international courts. 2. After signing a $45 million contract to host Israeli propaganda ads denying famine in Gaza, Google’s Trust and Safety team ordered employees to ignore over 70k user reports, claiming the misinformation ads don’t violate Google policy. 3. Google once upheld a facade of goodwill through AI principles which claimed to prohibit the development of weapons, despite years of pursuing military and surveillance development. That mask came off in 2025: a month into Trump’s presidency, AI principles banning technology for weaponry quietly disappeared. 4. Google has been lying about the Project Nimbus contract since 2021, claiming that the technology won’t act in violation of the company’s terms of service. Numerous leaks in 2025 showed not only did Google leadership anticipate that Nimbus would assist in war crimes, but they introduced special clauses to protect Israel against international investigations. 5. Google has gone above and beyond answering Trump’s fascist demands, from hiding war crimes to turning against activists and supporting ICE in kidnapping our neighbors. 6. Chasing after billions in profit from contracts aligned with genocide, deportation, and surveillance, Google spent 2025 reminding us just how greedy it can be, no matter the human cost. For Google 2025 was another year of being evil, another year of profiting from violence, and another year of enabling genocide. But it was also a year of organizing to build our collective power as tech workers, work that continues into the new year. Are you a Google worker ready to build a better future with your coworkers?
